HPMSNJ has sent a letter to Governor Corzine requesting that the proposed cuts for charitable funding for hospitals be reinstated in the 2009 budget. As stated in the letter, " Since 1992, New Jersey has seen 22 hospitals in our state close their doors; 10 in the last five years with two more awaiting approval to close. Governor Corzine, your cuts will exacerbate the financial problems of hospitals, and will more likely see additional facilities close in the future, without planning for their closing. Access to healthcare for the citizens of New Jersey will be an issue." To read the full text of the letter, click here.
